24 Weeks and Counting! {Maternity Portraits by Johnston Photography}

As many of you know my daughter is expecting her first child in April. Dave and I could not be more excited! Katie and her step daughter Hailey are visiting us this week so I took the opportunity to photograph Kate and her ever growing belly. I usually do not photograph a maternity client this early in their pregnancy, but Katie will not drive down when she is 8 months pregnant. I can't say I blame her! For those that do not know her, she is a pretty conservative woman, so there was no getting her naked for maternity portraits. Even tho she knows I keep things very descrete, it is just not her style. Here are few of our favorites from yesterdays Maternity Portrait Session at Johnston Photography in Crystal Lake. Oh by the way... She is having a little girl. Lyla Grace. Ok so I am just a little proud on my beautiful daughter and her wonderful husband Dan. Wish he could have come down too, but he had to work this week. I'll get him into the newborn portraits for sure!!!

Hard Times Don't Matter {Family Portrait Photographer Crystal Lake}

Well at least when it comes to helping less fortunate children. I must say a big THANK YOU! to all of the wonderful clients that participated in the Toy Drive this year. We had 17 portrait sessions in under 48 hours this year. Children, Families and Pets for our wintery set. I have spoken to several other studio owners around the country and they all said the same thing. Things are down. This economy makes it harder for people to open their wallets to help out others in need. We at Johnston Photography understand that completely. It warms my heart to see how wonderfully giving some of our clients are despite the "times". Here is a look at the collection of toys that will arrive at the Salvation Army later today because of all of you. You are a blessing to these children of McHenry County. May this Holiday Season be filled with blessings for you and your family! Merry Christmas!!!

Families Expanding {Pet Photographer Crystal Lake}

When I first met this family, this little boy was hardly sitting up. I Have been with them through the loss of a dog and now the addition of 2 new puppies. Leta and Loki.  Being there to help families capture the many milestones in their lives is what I love most about this profession. It makes the not so fun aspects totally worth it. I have a short break and just could not resist posting a few images for our Annual Toy Drive. The morning has been wonderful. Great kids, even an Irish Setter behaved for us! The toys are starting to pile up. I can't wait to make the delivery to the Salvation Army. 

Well back to work. The next session is pulling in! We feel like busy little elves today! LOL
