As we enter the Holiday Season, Thanksgiving reminds us of all we have. Not all are as fortunate however. Once again Johnston Photography is asking for your help in raising toys for less fortunate children. Our annual Winter Wonderland Toy Drive will be Dec. 2nd, 3rd and 4th this year. YES SUNDAY TOO! For the small donation of $35. in new unwrapped toys you can help be the difference in a childs Christmas morning. We are taking appointments for what is by far our most popular event of the year. Sarah will photograph you, your children, pets or family. Then Carol will help you thru the selection and order process. Easy as 1-2-3. Prints, ornaments, greeting cards as well as other products will be ready in time for all your holiday gift giving.

Don't need portraits at this time? Please feel free to drop off toys anyway. This is about giving to the children. We donate the toys so they stay with-in McHenry County. Just one way to give back to the community that has been so kind to us for the past 25 years.

I wanted to take a moment today and thank all of our Service Men and Women. I know not all agree with the war our country is involved in at this time, but in my opinion, that is no reason to not give our troops our FULL support. These men and women like all that have come before them are willing to do what it takes to protect and serve this country we call home. It may not be perfect, but it is still a lot better than a lot of other places out there. 

As the mom of a "troop"( which is just a term used to take the human factor out of it) I can not even begin to express the pride and gratitude I have for everyone, past, present and future, will to make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We ALL know someone who has served or is serving now, PLEASE take a moment to say Thank You! Not just today, but every chance you get. Let them know that we care and appreciate them and all they stand for.

Family Portraits On Location {Crystal Lake Family Photographer}

Well the fall season is now drawing to a close. Thought I would rem-anise a bit. Here is one of the first families we photographed in a new area location. Back when the weather was warm and the leaves were still green and on the trees. At Johnston Photography, we love going out on location for family portraits. We know so many great places in McHenry County ideal for outdoor portraits. Tho we seem to always go to a park our yard, I hope to eventually have a family request a downtown location. Hmmmm. Wonder who I can get to volunteer for that one!?
