Home again, Home again

When we got to the airport on Tuesday, the "Big" storm was just about to hit. Cindy and I went into a TGI Fridays for dinner before our flight. It has a room with atrium windows over looking a section of the tarmac. It was really cool to watch the storm roll in. I think others sitting near us thought we were nuts. We would take a bite of our food and take a few photos while we chewed. Our flight was delayed a few hours. We actually almost did not get out at all. Our plane had mechanical trouble at JFK. I know sounds scary. Talking with the crew at the service desk though, mechanical trouble can be a light bulb or a seatbelt or any number of things. Pilots do not have any desire to crash and burn either, so they make sure all is well before those wheels leave the ground. 

This is at the incline on Mt. Washington. One of the best views of the city. Cindy and I had a great trip!!!

 

Whew! Program is done and went REALLY well!! We had a great time with the members of Triangle!!! Saw some old friends and made some new ones. Now the trick is going to be getting home. The Weather Channel is calling it a Mid-Western Cyclone, the worst storm in 70 years! High winds and rain. Ohare Airport has reportedly canceled 300 flights and we need to head right into it! Looked into changing the flight but it would cost more than we paid for the ticket. They don't allow you to show-up early and try to go stand-by either. Soooooo, hopefully I will be here to post another day! Wish me luck. We'll chat soon

Fall In Pennsylvania

We got to out and do a little sightseeing and photographing yesterday afternoon. The rolling hills and fall colors are so peaceful. We may get a chance to go out to the country later today. Although I will only have my little point and shoot. Yesterday I was able to borrow a DSLR. I have to say the people here involved at Triangle have been wonderful! Very welcoming. It makes it such a pleasure! 

We will give our program tomorrow and head home in the evening. Too bad it will be dark when we take off. The colors were amazing when we flew in. I guess I should have photographed it when I had the chance!! Silly me!

 

One last thing- Happy Birthday to my son in Arizona!!! Happy 28th Birthday Bubba!! I love you and miss you.

Ready, Set, Go!

Today I am meeting with my best friend and speaking partner. We are putting the finishing touches on a program we will be presenting this weekend in PA. We have been invited to judge and speak at Triangle Photographers Associations Fall Convention. We were honored to present a program there a couple of years ago, on photographing children. This time we are discussing the world of the High School Senior. We are so excited to be going back. What a wonderful group of people! We are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Plus we just love to share what we have learned over the years with other photographers. A little giving back to the industry that has given us soooo much.
