Back from Happy Jack! {Crystal Lake Photographer}

I had this wonderful opportunity to attend a workshop on a working Cattle Ranch in Northern Arizona last weekend. Met a bunch of wonderful photographers from all over the country. Phyllis from Georgia and Dene from California seemed to be the official greeters when I got to the ranch. Bev Pettit was the instructor. She has a horse ranch in another area of Northern Arizona. We spent 2 days hanging around the V-V Ranch near Happy Jack, AZ. We had a real Chuckwagon Cook-out and went on a cattle drive. The nice cold mornings warmed up to mid 70 afternoons. Here are a quick 3 images from the workshop. I totaled out at 1500. I have not had time to really edit but wanted to share at least a little bit of the trip. Thanks Bev, Dave, and the staff at the ranch. It was such a wonderful time!!! Hope to see you my next trip out.

Back In The USA!

As many of you know I was invited to Judge in Korea on April 19th & 20th. It was such a great trip! The people were so friendly. The images we judged were amazing! A couple of us had some free time at the end to be tourists. We went to a temple, a palace and 2 open air markets. We took hundreds of photographs! Although several friends that had gone in the past warned me that the food was awful and I should be sure to bring food with me, I found the food to be amazing! Here are a few of the images from the trip. I will share more as I get time to cull through them. For now I need to get back in the swing of the studio. Tomorrow will be my first day back and I am looking forward to the routine!

Home again, Home again

When we got to the airport on Tuesday, the "Big" storm was just about to hit. Cindy and I went into a TGI Fridays for dinner before our flight. It has a room with atrium windows over looking a section of the tarmac. It was really cool to watch the storm roll in. I think others sitting near us thought we were nuts. We would take a bite of our food and take a few photos while we chewed. Our flight was delayed a few hours. We actually almost did not get out at all. Our plane had mechanical trouble at JFK. I know sounds scary. Talking with the crew at the service desk though, mechanical trouble can be a light bulb or a seatbelt or any number of things. Pilots do not have any desire to crash and burn either, so they make sure all is well before those wheels leave the ground. 

This is at the incline on Mt. Washington. One of the best views of the city. Cindy and I had a great trip!!!

 

Whew! Program is done and went REALLY well!! We had a great time with the members of Triangle!!! Saw some old friends and made some new ones. Now the trick is going to be getting home. The Weather Channel is calling it a Mid-Western Cyclone, the worst storm in 70 years! High winds and rain. Ohare Airport has reportedly canceled 300 flights and we need to head right into it! Looked into changing the flight but it would cost more than we paid for the ticket. They don't allow you to show-up early and try to go stand-by either. Soooooo, hopefully I will be here to post another day! Wish me luck. We'll chat soon

Fall In Pennsylvania

We got to out and do a little sightseeing and photographing yesterday afternoon. The rolling hills and fall colors are so peaceful. We may get a chance to go out to the country later today. Although I will only have my little point and shoot. Yesterday I was able to borrow a DSLR. I have to say the people here involved at Triangle have been wonderful! Very welcoming. It makes it such a pleasure! 

We will give our program tomorrow and head home in the evening. Too bad it will be dark when we take off. The colors were amazing when we flew in. I guess I should have photographed it when I had the chance!! Silly me!

 

One last thing- Happy Birthday to my son in Arizona!!! Happy 28th Birthday Bubba!! I love you and miss you.
